Christopher J. Rodriguez ’12
Christopher J. Rodriguez passed away on Dec 14, 2024. Chris was born Sept 10, 1989, to Theresa (Tanous) Rodriguez and Raymond Rodriguez. He graduated with honors from Skowhegan High School in 2008. He went on to Maine Maritime Academy and graduated with honors in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Chris was employed in the Shipping Industry and received his 2nd class engineering license.
After residing in Florida for a few years, Chris relocated in the San Diego area to work a landside position for a contracting company as an Estimator for navy ship repairs.
In Chris’s younger years, he played soccer in high school, loved skateboarding, and enjoyed learning guitar.
He worked hard in receiving a Brown Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Later he took up boxing. He loved doing card tricks and other tricks and would enjoy showing them to family and friends. Chris enjoyed snowmobiling with his family, taking trips up North and spending time with extended family. He enjoyed taking trips to the Coast as well as visiting his Grandpa in Brooklyn, NY exploring NYC. Chris loved hiking, fishing, and snowboarding out West as well as here in Maine.
In his Shipping years, Chris joined a cross fit program and challenged himself to the fullest potential, as well taking an interest in the business world by investing in others to start up their own businesses.
When Chris had time off, he looked forward to spending time back in Maine visiting family and friends as well as spending time at the family camp at Cold Stream Pond. Chris’s family could not wait for his visits and see his big smile coming through the door.
Chris recently relocated to Maine to be with family and continued to explore career opportunities. He completed a program for Marine designing in the Summer and received a certificate in Marine design at BIW. Chris continued to search for opportunities up to the time of his passing.
Chris is predeceased by his Grandparents: Anna and Wakine Tanous Sr as well as Maria Castagnino and Manuel Rodriguez. He is also predeceased by his Uncles: Joe Kelley and Lance McCracken.
Besides his parents, Chris is survived by his loving Brother Alex of Bangor. His Aunts: Arlene McCracken and Alice Kelley as well as his Uncles: Greg Tanous (Sharon), Nolan Tanous (companion Katherine), Wakine Tanous Jr (Jen), Peter Tanous (companion Karen). He will be missed by many cousins who loved him dearly. Also 2 special people who will miss him: Aunt Carol and Angela where he spent time often at their homes with his cousins.
We will always love our Christopher, We all miss you.
Private visiting hours for family will be held Friday Jan 24, from 10: 30 to 11:30 am at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St. in Richmond, Me. Following, a private service for family will be held at Noon at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 29 Kimball St, in Richmond. A burial will be announced at a later date.
